The Ideal Educational Society was established in the year, 1991. Over the year, IES has become one of the leading academic institutions of excellence in the state of Kerala. The aim of the society is to promote quality education among the people in general and backward communities, in particular.

The parent organization of IES, namely MES (Middle - East Educational Society), is running MES Indian School, at Doha in the state of Qatar, an institution established in the year 1974 committed to the cause of quality education. The school is one of the best and largest educational institutions in the Gulf, and is recognized by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSCE), New Delhi.

IES promotes IES Public School for classes from LKG to Standard XII, in the Chittilappilly campus, which is also affiliated to CBSE, New Delhi. The IES Public School is proud to have strength of approx.2500, a fleet of 50 buses and separate hostels for boys and girls with all modern amenities.

IES College of engineering is another institution managed by the society within in Chittilappilly Campus. The college is conceived as a high-tech technical training institution offering B-Tech degree courses in six disciplines of engineering with excellent facilities as stipulated by the all India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and The University of Calicut.

IES College of Architecture is the fourth institution by the society in the IES campus. The College was started in the academic year 2012-13 with a total of forty intakes.
